As the attached registration brochure announces, the VAMFT Conference is a "go" and we're very excited about it. Thanks to our Central VP, Yvonne Barry, we've arranged to have it at John Tyler Community College in Chester, just south of Richmond. This is a central location, with lots of parking and great facilities that include an on-site cafeteria and a book store. We're also excited and privileged to bring you presentations from some of our most talented VAMFT members! Please set aside Friday, April 14th to join us for a day of training, networking and fun. In addition to VAMFT members, we've invited many other area professionals. We hope to see you there!

Both resolutions passed. So, now the VAMFT Board will be elected in April and begin their terms in June. We will also elect half of the Board (Northern VP, Central VP, Student-Associate Representative, &Secretary) in even years and the other half (President Elect, Eastern VP, Southwestern VP, Treasurer) in odd years. We hope this will improve the Board's functioning by increasing efficiency and volunteers to participate in VAMFT.

Elections will be held in April for the following positions: President, President Elect, Student-Associate Representative, Central Vice President, Northern Vice President, Secretary and all three Elections Committee members. Descriptions of these positions can be found in your November 1999 newsletter, which is also on our webpage. We really need people to volunteer for these positions. Call any of the current Board members if you'd like more information. Training is available through AAMFT in April and October, and we'll provide you with training before June, in addition to the mentorship from senior Board members. Besides, it's really fun, and a great way to get involved with fellow MFTs and other mental health professionals!

In addition to the April elections, we're looking for volunteers to hold the following non-elected positions: Newsletter Editor and VAMFT Allied Professions Representative. Please contact Anne Prouty if you're interested. Remember, VAMFT employs no staff, so we need you to volunteer!
